Dot

My Dot Day Exploration Artwork

For the dot day project in class, we had to create our own unique dot. We started out with a coffee filter and created a design of our choice using markers, crayons, oil pastels, and sharpies, having a piece of tin foil underneath. I used all sharpie in mine. Using different colors of pinks and purples. Following a zig-zaggy pattern. When done with the design, we watercolor to make the colors bleed. I used the watercolor purple to match my Sharpie design.

Extension Activity 3D Dot

Give each student a foam ball as their dot. They decorate using markers, stickers, tissue paper, and clear tape. Encourage creativity: abstract patterns, favorite colors, or simple designs that reflect their personality. Students then write a sentence, "My dot shows…” on a sticky note to place next to their completed sculpture. Then we will create a walk-through so all students will be able to look at all their classmates' 3D dots.
